Welcome to IWG Tunis! The IWG (International Women's Group), Tunis, is a non-profit organisation for women from around the world, presently residing in Tunisia. Its easy, multicultural atmosphere attracts expat ladies to join the group. We share and enjoy good moments together. We have currently more than two hundred members from 43 countries. The focus of the IWG is to help the expat ladies to settle down in Tunis and feel at home. To achieve this, we have set up many activity groups within the IWG. It enables members to participate in small group activities of their own interest, and share experiences and information about Tunisia and their own nations with other members. Our activities are highlighted by the monthly IWG Coffee Mornings which offer a great opportunity to the members to make friends and explore their new home away from home. Members of the IWG actively participate in charity activities, and organize fund-raising bazaars in spring and winter. The funds raised through these are donated to different Tunisian charities to meet some of their financial needs.

IWG Tunis Update

Dear Ladies,

February 28th, more than 50 ladies gathered for our IWG February Coffee Morning at the Ennejma Ezzahra Palace Museum in Sidi BouSaid. This rich culture pasted Palace, its elegance and its legends all left everybody a very deep impression. All ladies fully enjoyed the luxury of personal guide offered by the Museum Curator, Mr Hentati. Since the Palace Museum is hugely liked by everybody, IWG Tunis will try to organize more events in near future. For ladies who missed this unique opportunity, I have selected an excellent old article "Discover the palace and its museum" contributed by a friend of the original owner of the Palace and published on the IWG Blog. (Please find the link here: http:// iwgtunis.blogspot.com, click on "Older Posts")

As an organizer of such IWG events, it is always my great pleasure to select a best venue and secure an interesting topic for each event. I do highly appreciate ladies who always signing up on time and also participating the events. However, we also have some ladies who a)try to sign up after the cutoff line or b)signed up on time but simply absent without any notification or c)participate the event without signing up at all. These are three situations which cause inaccurate participant number and sometimes might even cause my private final loss. The cutoff line for signing up is to inform the host (a club, a hotel or a museum) an accurate number of participant. According to this, the host is able to prepare and deliver requested services. Less or more participants than the reported number may cause very embarrassing and unpleasant situation for both the IWG organizer and the host. We do have 48-hour-cancellation policy in place. May I please bring this to everybody's attention for our future's events?

Our IWG Event Program in March will be followed in a separate email soon.

There is an announcement from our "Mah-Jong Group". The Group now has two new Heads, Marianne Rauhe and Edith Krist. Congratulations ladies! The wish from the Group is to welcome more ladies to join. Anybody who feels like learning this interesting game, you are most welcome to contact
Marianne on email LKARLSEN@gmail.com,  tel. 55086350,or
Edith on email e.krist@gmx.net,  tel. 28862686
This will be published and updated under IWG Ongoing Groups on the IWG Blog too.
