Welcome to IWG Tunis! The IWG (International Women's Group), Tunis, is a non-profit organisation for women from around the world, presently residing in Tunisia. Its easy, multicultural atmosphere attracts expat ladies to join the group. We share and enjoy good moments together. We have currently more than two hundred members from 43 countries. The focus of the IWG is to help the expat ladies to settle down in Tunis and feel at home. To achieve this, we have set up many activity groups within the IWG. It enables members to participate in small group activities of their own interest, and share experiences and information about Tunisia and their own nations with other members. Our activities are highlighted by the monthly IWG Coffee Mornings which offer a great opportunity to the members to make friends and explore their new home away from home. Members of the IWG actively participate in charity activities, and organize fund-raising bazaars in spring and winter. The funds raised through these are donated to different Tunisian charities to meet some of their financial needs.

Dear Ladies,

Happy New Year!
I hope, all of you had a wonderful and relaxing holiday time. Now, everybody is full of energy welcome the new challenges in 2013.

To have a proper start into 2013, we are going to have a 2013 Year Opening Luncheon organised for entire IWG Tunis. It is on January 17, Thursday at 1pm at charming Sindbad Club Restaurant in Gammarth. This is also specially organised to have a farewell moment to our two most active members, Constantina Agapitou Crawley and Fiona Jack who are leaving Tunis by end of January. As the event is next Thursday, please sign up immediately now with "Jan lunch" in the subject line before Jan 16. It is 30 dinars per person, menu is followed shortly. 

Since there are some public holidays in January, our initial third Thursday coffee morning gathering is now shifted to January 31, Thursday at 10am at Elyssa Club in Sidi  Bou Said. We will have our great pleasure to invite a special guest speaker. Details will be followed soon. As usual, it costs 10 dinars pp. Please sign up now with "Jan cafe" in the subject line before Jan 28.

In addition to these two big events, there will be a cooking class for children food specially arranged for the young moms group. The session is going to take place in the last week of January. Angela is looking after the project and will let us know some details very soon. 

With the new year opening, our IWG activity groups have started different interesting actions. Oil Painting Group started first session today. Mah-Jong Group will have their first play next Tuesday. The Weight-Watch Group will start action soon. Same as the Walking Group, Dog-Walking Group, Tennis Group and so on. If you are interested in joining any of these groups, please check the details on our IWG Blog under "Groups and Activities". I will also make an update and forward to everybody from the IWG mailbox. As a good initiative from Fiona Liebster, starting from Jan coffee gathering we will have group sign-up sheet prepared by each group Head. It will offer an extra opportunity for ladies, particularly for new members who wish to join IWG activity groups. 

Angela forwarded me an invitation from "Restaurant, Mammy Lily" who will organise a special lunch on Sunday 13th. I share it with all of you as an attachment here. For ladies who wish to participate, please take action immediately. First come, first serve. Thanks Angela!

Charmaine sent a very useful information also for our weekend action - 
"Museums and historical sites will be open to the Tunisian public free of charge throughout the country from January 11 to 15."
